Sedation dentistry, when comfort is the priority.

For anxious patients, those with a strong gag reflex, and longer procedures (All-on-4, zygomatic implants, multiple extractions): IV conscious sedation with propofol or general anaesthetic, delivered on-site by a consultant anaesthetist — not the dentist. The same standards you would expect at home, in a clinic that has been documenting cases since 1985.

Three options · matched to the case

Sedation, IV sedation, or general anaesthetic.

Inhalation sedation (N₂O)

Light anxiolysis with nitrous oxide. You stay awake and responsive. Recovery in roughly 10 minutes. Suitable for a first visit or mild anxiety.

IV sedation (propofol)

Conscious "twilight" sedation. You breathe on your own, respond to verbal cues, and typically have no memory of the procedure. Our standard for All-on-4 and longer surgical visits.

General anaesthetic (GA)

For very long procedures (over 4 hours), severe dental phobia, or paediatric cases that cannot be managed with sedation alone. Intubated and ventilated by a consultant anaesthetist.

Who benefits — anxiety dental treatment NHS gap

When sedation dentistry is the right answer.

NHS routine dentistry rarely funds IV sedation outside hospital referral pathways, and private waiting lists in the UK are long. We fill that gap for patients travelling from the UK to Istanbul who need treatment under sedation but cannot wait or self-fund a hospital admission at home.

  • Dental phobia or panic disorder
  • Strong gag reflex
  • Longer surgical visits in one day (All-on-4, full-mouth rehabilitation)
  • Zygomatic implants
  • Cognitive or physical impairment that makes long sessions difficult
  • Patient preference — you simply want to be more comfortable
Clinical standards

How we keep you safe.

01

Pre-operative assessment

ASA classification, ECG, blood work. We liaise with your GP if you have any relevant medical history. Nothing starts without it.

02

Intra-operative monitoring

ECG, SpO₂, end-tidal CO₂, non-invasive blood pressure. The consultant anaesthetist — not the dentist — manages your sedation throughout.

03

Recovery room

30–60 minutes of post-operative observation. We discharge you only with a chaperone — not on your own.

04

Aftercare instructions

No driving, no important decisions for 24 hours. You leave with a written discharge note. Your UK GP and dentist receive an NHS-compatible record on request.

Our 10-year implant, 5-year crown and veneer, 2-year endodontic and 1-year soft-tissue cover applies to the underlying treatment, not the sedation itself.
