GC Clinic LabworX · Nişantaşı, Istanbul · In-house dental laboratory

Same building. Same team. Same case.

GC Clinic LabworX is our in-house dental laboratory. It is a separate legal entity that works exclusively for GC Clinic — which means every crown, veneer, bridge, abutment and full-arch restoration designed in our chair is milled, pressed, fired, glazed and quality-checked in the same building, by the same people, for one patient at a time. The clinician walks down the corridor, not across the city.

Why an in-house lab actually matters

Three things change when the lab is in the same building as the chair.

The patient-facing benefit of an in-house dental laboratory is not the equipment list. It is the loop — clinician, technician, patient — staying short. Short loops produce restorations that fit, look right, and survive bite forces because the people responsible never lose context.

Speed without shortcuts

Chair-to-lab in hours, not weeks.

A digital impression taken in the morning can be designed, milled or pressed, fired and glazed the same day. We do not promise same-visit delivery for every case — that would be a sales claim, not clinical practice. We do promise that the case never sits in a courier bag or a queue.

Clinician-in-the-room quality control

Two pairs of eyes on every restoration.

Before a crown leaves the lab bench it is checked by the technician who made it and the clinician who will seat it — in the same room, against the patient's photographs, study models, and shade notes. Adjustments take minutes, not days.

Materials traceability

Every restoration carries its own paper trail.

Every block, disc, ingot and abutment used in your case is logged by manufacturer, batch and lot. You leave Istanbul with a written record of what is in your mouth — useful for your dentist at home, useful for warranty claims, useful for you.

What is in the lab

Equipment and materials, listed honestly.

We are a boutique laboratory inside a boutique clinic — not an industrial milling centre. The equipment list is deliberate, the materials are mainstream, and nothing on this page is here for marketing reasons.

CAD/CAM design, wet/dry milling.

Intraoral scans are designed in exocad-class CAD software and milled on dental CNC units (Roland DGShape-class wet/dry milling). Zirconia restorations are processed in dedicated sintering furnaces; PMMA mock-ups and try-ins are produced on the same workflow.

e.max press oven, layering bench, glaze furnace.

For lithium-disilicate veneers and crowns we use IPS e.max press ingots in a dedicated press oven, with hand-layering for cases where translucency and incisal characterisation require it. Glazing and staining is done on the same bench by the same ceramist.

Mainstream, well-documented, traceable.

Zirconia discs from Zirkonzahn-class suppliers, IPS e.max press ingots from Ivoclar, NobelProcera and BruxZir for full-contour zirconia, titanium and zirconia abutments aligned with the implant systems we use clinically. Every batch number is logged against your case file.

How a case moves through LabworX

Five steps. Same corridor. One case at a time.

01

Digital impression and case briefing

After preparation, an intraoral scan is taken in the operatory. Shade, photography, occlusion notes and patient preferences are written into the case file by the treating clinician — not by a coordinator, not on a form. The file walks to the lab with the clinician's voice on it.

02

Design and wax-up review

The technician designs the restoration in CAD software, or builds an analog wax-up where the indication calls for it. The design is reviewed against patient photographs, smile line, lip dynamics and the agreed plan. Changes are made before any material is cut.

03

Mill, press, or print

Depending on the material and indication, the restoration is milled from a zirconia disc, pressed from an e.max ingot, or printed for try-in mock-ups. Batch numbers are logged at this step against your case file.

04

Fire, glaze, and characterise

Zirconia restorations are sintered; lithium-disilicate restorations are crystallised and stained. The ceramist works against your photographs, shade tabs and the design notes. Final glaze is applied on the same bench, by the same hand.

05

Seat, verify, document

The restoration returns to the operatory for try-in. Fit, contact, occlusion, shade match and patient feedback are checked together. Adjustments — when needed — are made in the lab in the same hour. Once seated, the case is closed in the record with batch numbers, photographs and warranty terms attached.

How this differs from an outsourced workflow

Factual comparison, not a sales pitch.

Outsourced dental laboratories are a perfectly reasonable model and the global industry runs on them. We choose not to use one because, for the kinds of cases we treat, the loop length matters more than the cost savings. The table below describes the practical difference — not a judgement of either model.

DimensionOutsourced lab workflowGC Clinic LabworX
Turnaround between scan and try-in Several days to two weeks, depending on courier and queue Hours to one to two days, depending on indication
Communication channel Written prescription, photographs, occasional phone call Clinician and technician in the same room, same case, same hour
Quality control before delivery Lab technician QC, clinician inspects on delivery Technician QC plus clinician review on the bench before try-in
Materials traceability to the patient Depends on lab paperwork transferred to clinic Logged in your case file by batch and lot, given to you in writing
Remake handling Re-scan, re-courier, re-queue Adjusted or remade in the same building, same case file
What LabworX makes for which treatment

Ten treatments, ten lab outputs.

LabworX is involved in every restorative and prosthetic case we treat. Below is a plain list of what the lab actually produces for each treatment line — useful if you want to understand where the lab sits in your specific plan.

Custom abutment + final crown.

After osseointegration, LabworX produces the patient-specific abutment and the final implant-supported crown — zirconia or lithium-disilicate, depending on position and load. Batch numbers and abutment specification go into your case file.

Dental implants →

Provisional immediate bridge, final full-arch bridge.

LabworX produces the immediate-load provisional bridge for surgery day and the definitive full-arch bridge once healing is complete. Designed against the patient's facial photography, vertical dimension and lip support.

All-on-4 →

IPS e.max press veneers, hand-layered where indicated.

Lithium-disilicate veneers pressed in the LabworX press oven, with hand-layering of incisal translucency and characterisation by the in-house ceramist. Shade verified against patient photographs at try-in.

Porcelain veneers →

Digital wax-up, mock-up, definitive restorations.

LabworX produces the digital design, the printed mock-up you try in your mouth before any tooth is touched, and the final restorations once the design is agreed. The wax-up is the contract.

Smile design →

Zirconia or lithium-disilicate, indication-led.

Single-unit crowns are milled from zirconia or pressed in e.max depending on tooth position, opposing dentition and aesthetic demand. Material choice is recorded against your case.

Dental crowns →

Full upper and lower restorative sequence.

LabworX builds the full case in stages — diagnostic wax-up, mock-up try-in, provisionals, definitive restorations — keeping vertical dimension, occlusion and aesthetics on a single sheet from start to finish.

Full-mouth rehabilitation →

Minimal-prep lithium-disilicate veneers.

The Old Money brief — discreet, natural, age-appropriate — is built into the lab work, not bolted on. LabworX presses minimal-prep veneers, with restrained value and characterisation rather than bleach-bright uniformity.

Old Money Smile →

Provisional and definitive full-arch bridge.

For severely atrophic maxillae rehabilitated with zygomatic implants, LabworX produces the provisional bridge for immediate function and the definitive full-arch prosthesis once integration is confirmed.

Zygomatic implants →

Indirect mock-up and silicone matrix index.

Even for direct composite bonding, LabworX contributes a digital wax-up and a silicone matrix so the clinician can layer composite chairside against a designed reference rather than freehand.

Composite bonding →

Full-arch veneer package, agreed at mock-up.

For full-arch veneer packages, LabworX presses the case as a designed set — proportion, midline, smile arc and lip support resolved at the mock-up stage before any preparation begins.

Hollywood Smile →
Three honest questions about an in-house lab

The questions our patients actually ask.

Who runs the lab?

LabworX is run by an in-house ceramist who works only on GC Clinic cases. The lab is a separate legal entity for commercial and regulatory reasons, but it does not take cases from other clinics and does not function as a contract laboratory. You meet the team in the same building as your operatory.

Is the lab certified?

LabworX operates under the relevant Turkish dental laboratory regulations and uses materials supplied by manufacturers whose products are CE-marked and documented under their own regulatory frameworks (Ivoclar, Zirkonzahn-class suppliers, Nobel Biocare). Specific manufacturer documentation for the materials used in your case is available on request as part of your treatment dossier.

Can my dentist back home talk to the lab if there is an issue?

Yes. We supply you with the written case file, batch and lot numbers, the implant system used and the manufacturer documentation. If your dentist at home needs to communicate directly with LabworX about a restoration, that is arranged through the clinic — and almost always handled in writing for clarity.

Warranty and traceability

Your restoration leaves Istanbul with its paperwork.

At seat-and-document, the case file closes with: photographs of the seated restoration, batch and lot numbers of every material used, the implant system and surgical record where applicable, and the warranty terms in writing. Our standard warranty positions are: ten years on the implant fixture, five years on crowns and veneers, two years on endodontic work, and one year on soft-tissue procedures. Warranty is subject to the patient following the documented home-care and follow-up protocol — the clinical reason for this is on the same page as the terms.

Restoration-level traceability

Because LabworX is in the same building, your case file does not depend on a third party retaining records. Batch and lot numbers, manufacturer documentation and the photograph of the seated restoration are held in the clinic record and supplied to you in writing.

Warranty coverage depends on treatment type, the materials selected and the patient's adherence to documented home-care and recall protocols. Exact warranty terms for your case are set out in your written treatment plan.

Frequently asked questions

About the lab, the workflow, and what to expect.

What is the turnaround time from scan to seated restoration?

Single-unit crowns and small veneer cases can often be completed within the same clinical visit window, depending on indication. Larger cases — full arches, smile design, full-mouth rehabilitation — follow a staged plan with try-in appointments. We do not promise same-visit delivery for every case; we promise the case never sits in a queue.

Which materials does LabworX actually keep in stock?

Zirconia discs from Zirkonzahn-class suppliers, IPS e.max press ingots from Ivoclar, PMMA discs for try-ins and provisionals, NobelProcera and BruxZir products for full-contour zirconia where indicated, and titanium and zirconia abutments matched to the implant systems we use. Batch numbers are logged against your case.

What is the quality-control protocol before a restoration is seated?

Three checkpoints: design review against the case file, technician QC at finishing, and clinician review at the lab bench before the restoration leaves for try-in. At try-in we verify fit, contact, occlusion, shade match and patient feedback together. Adjustments are made in the lab in the same hour where possible.

Can I visit the lab during my treatment?

Yes, on request and where it does not disrupt other patients' cases. Most patients prefer to see their wax-up and mock-up in the operatory rather than tour the lab, but the lab is in the same building and the team is happy to walk you through your case at the bench if you would like.

What happens if a restoration needs to be remade?

The remake is processed in the same building, against the same case file, using the same scans and design notes. There is no courier, no third-party queue and no second prescription. The remake is logged in your record and the original batch numbers are retained for traceability.
