Is dental treatment in Turkey safe?
Regulated specialist polyclinics in Turkey are licensed and inspected annually by the Turkish Ministry of Health. GC Clinic operates under full regulatory compliance. The "Turkey Teeth" media story refers to specific volume operations offering inappropriate crown protocols — not to the regulatory environment itself.
What happens if something goes wrong in the UK?
Use A&E or your regular UK emergency service first. Message GC Clinic as soon as possible afterwards — we coordinate with the UK clinician who saw you, and cover anything falling under the written warranty.
Can I see accreditation certificates?
Yes. Ministry of Health polyclinic licence and Turkish Dental Association registration are available on request. International patient accreditation (TEMOS) is in progress; we will publish the certificate the day it is issued and not before.
What implant brands do you use?
Straumann · Neodent · Nobel Biocare only. Lot numbers of the specific fixtures placed in your mouth are documented in your surgical file and printed on your warranty certificate.
Is the Straumann I would get in the UK the same as the one here?
Yes — identical. Straumann manufactures in Switzerland for both markets. You can cross-reference the lot number on your warranty with the manufacturer if you choose.
What does the written warranty actually cover?
10 years on implant fixtures (manufacturer-pass-through). 5 years on crowns and veneers. 2 years on endodontic treatment. 2 years on soft-tissue grafting. Full terms set out on our
Our Promise page.
What happens if a crown or veneer cracks in year four?
Replaced at our cost under the written warranty, provided the three warranty conditions (annual review, routine hygiene, no trauma) are met. Typically 2–3 day return trip for single-unit work.
Why is GC Clinic priced so differently from UK private?
UK clinic overheads, regulatory costs, and professional fees in London are several times higher than in Istanbul. The implant, porcelain and consumables themselves cost the same. You are not paying for cheaper components — you are paying for a different cost base.
Will I end up paying more than the headline quote?
The quote you receive is priced line by line. Complications — if they arise — are covered by the written warranty. If additional clinical work emerges during treatment (which is rare after CBCT-led planning), you would be informed and consent would be taken before anything was done.
How long will I be in Istanbul?
Single implant: 3–4 working days for placement, then 3–6 months healing at home, then 2–3 days for the final crown. Veneers: 5–7 days in one visit. All-on-4: 7 days visit 1, 4 days visit 2. Exact timeline is in your plan.
Do I need to travel with someone?
For most single-visit procedures, no. For full-arch surgery, we recommend a companion for the first trip; most subsequent visits are done alone.
Can I fly straight after surgery?
Usually yes — for single implant or veneer work, you can fly the day after surgery. For more complex cases we suggest 48–72 hours before departure. Specific guidance is in your plan.
How does my UK dentist know what was done?
With a clinical letter in English, a copy of the CBCT, the surgical plan, and a direct contact for Dr. Öztürk. Documentation is typically more comprehensive than a UK private referral.
Will my UK dentist be willing to maintain the work?
In our experience, yes — UK dentists we have worked with have been consistently positive once they have seen the documentation. Routine hygiene and check-ups do not require specialist knowledge of the original treatment.
Is this a chain clinic?
No. Two doctors, four surgeries, one location — Nişantaşı since 1985. Not a franchise, not a brand of another clinic. One legal entity.
Is the doctor I meet the doctor who treats me?
Yes. Dr. Öztürk performs the treatment personally. Dr. Engin Bakkal — Marmara graduate, in continuous practice since 1995 — supports the implant-surgical, oral surgery and periodontal work. There is no handoff.
Why is a second opinion free?
Because — honestly — most UK enquiries have already seen a plan, and our second opinion occasionally tells them to stay with the UK clinic. We consider that a successful use of our time. The patients who do become patients tend to come back for the right reasons.
